Can you find the better way how to feel the spirit of original Mongolia, than experiencing the way natives had been living in those times? Small town of yurts is created exactly for this purpose at the territory of recreation centre “Shchilin”. Yurt is this most ancient form of habitation of nomads of that had rounded form. Mongolia used to be named the "country of the felted yurts", because basic buildings on territory of republic were exactly the yurts. Nowadays the population of villages gives preference to this type of building as well. Due to the usage of only ecological materials there is always good air ventilation and such weather conditions as high winds or frosts can’t affect the construction.
Their homes were extremely important to Mongols; every centimeter of the home was identified with the part of the world, season of the year and even a period of life. The yurt is set up with the door facing south, in order to determine the time of day and location. It is believed that the western side of the yurt is designed for men and eastern part is made for women.
Yurts were nomadic and guest. The guest yurts were decorated very festively, all Mongolian traditions were used. Nine guest yurts were built on the territory of recreation center “Shchilin”. Traditional interior, the special atmosphere will make your stay a memorable one! They are equipped with the most necessary - shower, toilet according to the latest European standards.
